Moments, lessons, and milestones from the journey so far. - FAQs

Every question carries a story — a beginning, a challenge, a dream unfolding.

Before every polished moment, there were late nights, early mornings, quiet doubts, and louder dreams. Here, I’ve gathered some of the moments, lessons, and milestones from my journey — hoping they offer you a glimpse behind the scenes, and a little inspiration for your own path.

Because every question is part of a bigger story.

Let’s begin.

Starting was never just about sharing pretty pictures — it was about sharing parts of myself.

In 2014, with nothing but long Instagram captions and quiet dreams, I found myself called to storytelling. A friend nudged me toward blogging, and that small encouragement opened a new door: a space where fashion, fitness, and fleeting thoughts could finally have a home.

Over time, content creation became more than a hobby — it became my creative outlet, my second language, my anchor. It was never about being perfect. It was about connecting, inspiring, and leaving small echoes of light behind for whoever needed them.

That’s why I started. And that’s why I’m still here.

During my Master’s program, something clicked.

Digital marketing was still new then—full of untapped potential—and for the first time, creativity and strategy didn’t feel like opposing forces. They felt like two parts of the same story.

That spark led me to a career as a Studio Director in a production and marketing agency, where I learned to see content not just as moments captured, but as messages crafted. Stories built to move people.

I began to understand that true impact lives at the intersection of storytelling, branding, and human connection. Every caption I wrote, every campaign I managed, every brand I helped shape—it all wove together a new kind of foundation: structure wrapped in heart.

Looking back, everything—from my dissertation late nights to my early agency days—shaped how I create today. Merging intention with imagination. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

No two days look exactly the same — and that’s part of the magic.

Most mornings begin quietly, on purpose. A small prayer, a deep breath, a moment to ground myself before the world begins spinning. Then it’s off to the gym — not just for fitness, but for energy, clarity, momentum. It’s my way of fueling the creativity that follows.

Once I’m back, it’s time to create. Some days, I’m filming, editing, writing scripts, or recording podcast episodes. Other days are quieter but just as important — answering emails, prepping collaborations, building out digital products behind the scenes.

My afternoons are for connection: catching up with my community, answering DMs, sharing glimpses of the process — the messy middles, the small victories, the ordinary moments that often mean the most.

If time allows, I’ll carve out a pocket for dreaming bigger: planning future projects, mapping ideas, or simply letting inspiration run wild without a deadline attached.

Evenings are sacred. A time to soften, to reflect, to wind down with my fiancé — sometimes laughing over dinner, sometimes sharing quiet space.

Every day looks a little different. Some are structured, some are chaotic, but every single one feels deeply mine.

This is the life I chose to build: messy, meaningful, and beautifully unfinished.

A typical day as a full-time content creator? Honestly, it’s a mix of structure and flexibility—it keeps things interesting! My mornings are sacred; I start with a little prayer to center myself, then head to the gym to get moving and set the tone for the day. That post-workout energy is my fuel to dive into the creative chaos.

Once I’m back, it’s all about content. Some days, I’m filming or editing videos for YouTube, brainstorming ideas, or recording an episode for the podcast. Other days, it’s less glamorous but just as important—answering emails, managing my digital products, or prepping for upcoming collaborations. There’s always something to plan or create, which I love because it keeps me on my toes.

By the afternoon, I’m usually catching up with my community—whether it’s responding to DMs, engaging with comments, or sharing some behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram. If it’s a lighter day, I’ll use that time to work on big-picture goals, like creating new resources or mapping out future projects.

Evenings are my slow-down time. I’ll reflect on what I accomplished, plan out the next day, and then unwind with my fiancé—whether that’s catching up on a show, having a good chat, or just relaxing. Every day looks a little different, but that’s what makes this journey so fulfilling. It’s creative, chaotic, and completely mine.

Some places don’t just leave a memory; they leave fingerprints on your life.

Paris. My very first intercontinental trip — and honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better place to fall in love with the world. Every corner, every cobblestone street, every scent of fresh croissants… it felt like magic stitched into real life. Three years later, I got to live it all over again — but this time, it was our Paris. It’s where I got engaged. It’s layered now — not just beautiful, but deeply personal. Paris stole my heart, twice.

New York. The city that makes you feel alive in ways you didn’t know you could. It’s chaos and hope and magic all at once. New York rooted for me. Every walk, every late-night laugh, every sunset over the skyline made me feel like I was living inside my own movie. She’s a little messy, a little loud — but unforgettable. Everyone should feel her at least once.

Rome. Rome was pure sensory overload — in the best way. The history, the piazzas, the pizza (oh, the pizza). Some of the best meals of my life happened there. Sitting at a tiny table, biting into a slice so simple yet so perfect — for a moment, the world around me blurred. Rome doesn’t just charm you. She claims you.

Bali. Bali is like pressing pause on the noise. It slows you down until all that’s left is gratitude — for sunsets, for slow mornings, for yourself. It’s a place that breathes stillness into you without asking for anything back. Bali will always feel like a hug from the universe.

South Africa. If home had a second name, it would be South Africa. It’s where my wine palate woke up (shoutout to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek), but more than that — it’s where my spirit feels understood. The people, the soul, the landscapes… it’s all so real. Every visit feels like coming back to something I didn’t even know I was missing.

These places aren’t just destinations.

They’re pieces of my story — reminders of why I fell in love with travel in the first place.

Every one of them left a mark. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Over the years (and plenty of chaotic airport mornings later), I’ve learned: a smooth trip isn’t luck — it’s a little bit of magic and a whole lot of preparation.

An eSIM or portable Wi-Fi device is non-negotiable. Connection is everything — whether I’m lost in a new city or just sharing a slow morning moment with you. It’s my safety net and my permission slip to explore freely.

A versatile travel organizer. Tiny, but mighty. It holds the quiet heroes of every trip — chargers, adapters, cables — the things you don’t miss until your phone is gasping at 2%.

A solid, travel-sized skincare routine. Airplanes are sneaky thieves, stealing every drop of moisture from your skin. A hydrating mist, a trusted moisturizer, and sunscreen (always, always sunscreen) are my secret to stepping off a plane still feeling human.

Packing cubes. My love language to myself. They turn chaos into calm — keeping my suitcase from becoming a tornado and making unpacking in tiny hotel rooms feel almost luxurious.

And my curated travel journal. It’s not just a notebook. It’s where the little moments live — the smell of a bakery at sunrise, the laughter that spills out during a sunset taxi ride, the dreams scribbled somewhere between takeoff and landing. If you’re looking for a piece of that magic, I tucked a link to my favorite journal here.

These aren’t just travel hacks.

They’re the tiny anchors that let me move through the world a little lighter, a little more present, and a lot more alive.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned on this journey? Growth rarely looks like the polished highlight reels we imagine.

When I first started, I thought being a content creator meant showing up perfectly — the perfect photo, the perfect caption, the perfectly curated life. But the more I chased perfect, the more disconnected I became — from my audience, from my creativity, and from myself.

What I know now is simple:

People don’t want perfect. They want real.

They want the messy middle, the almosts, the late-night doubts, the trying-again mornings.

They want to see the story while it’s still being written.

And truthfully? So do I.

I’ve also learned that content creation isn’t just about posting pretty things.

It’s a business. A calling. A delicate dance between creativity and strategy.

It’s showing up on the days you feel stuck. It’s figuring out how to pivot when the old way stops working. It’s building something lasting — not just for now, but for who you’re becoming.

The most important lesson?

It takes time.

The cringe-worthy first videos, the late-night edits fueled by hope and caffeine, the quiet launches that nobody noticed — they mattered. They were necessary.

Because every awkward beginning holds the seeds of a beautiful becoming.

Looking back, I wouldn’t trade a single moment.

Because this journey has never just been about content.

It’s about the lessons, the resilience, the connections —

and the story I’m still writing, day by day.

And honestly?

That’s the best part.

The story behind my rebrand as Kymmiee, Lately is deeply personal — it’s about stepping into my truth, owning who I am, and finding clarity in where I’m going.

For years, I felt like I was just “going with the flow,” trying to balance full-time work with part-time content creation. On the surface, it seemed like I was doing it all, but deep down, I knew I wasn’t fully showing up — not for myself, and not for my audience. I was creating, yes, but I wasn’t creating from a place that truly reflected me.

This rebrand is my way of saying: Enough.

Enough of playing small.

Enough of letting fear dictate my choices.

Enough of creating just to check boxes or fit into someone else’s version of success.

It’s about finding my why, redefining it, and fully owning it. I wanted to create a space that reminds people of the beauty in their everyday lives — a space that encourages bold dreams, quiet growth, and steps taken in their own timing.

The name Kymmiee, Lately felt like home the moment it landed.

It reflects exactly where I am: growing, evolving, softening into my becoming.

It’s a nod to the messy, beautiful truth that life is not a finished story — it’s always unfolding, always becoming, and it’s okay not to have it all figured out yet.

This rebrand isn’t just about a new aesthetic or a tagline.

It’s about showing up, fully.

It’s about offering my voice, my story, and something meaningful.

For the first time, I feel like I’m building something that’s truly aligned with my heart and purpose.

Kymmiee, Lately isn’t about perfection — it’s about realness. It’s about creating a space that feels like a soft landing for those who are still becoming, just like me.

Whether you’re here to romanticize your daily life, build your dream career, or simply find inspiration for your next step, this is your space too.

This rebrand is about embracing the journey — not rushing the destination.

It’s about growing boldly, showing up imperfectly, and loving yourself through it all.

And this is Kymmiee, Lately — human, evolving, and here to remind you:

you are becoming something beautiful, too. 🌿

Because life, like this space, isn’t about who you’re supposed to be.

It’s about honoring who you are.

Kymmiee, Lately.

Loving her forward.

If I could sit across from you right now, cup of coffee in hand, this is what I would say:

Start with your why.

Before anything else, get quiet enough to ask yourself:

Why am I doing this? What do I want to share? What do I want people to feel when they experience my work?

Your “why” becomes your lighthouse — the thing that keeps you steady when the path gets messy, and the thing that makes your voice unmistakably yours in a sea of others.

And then, focus on authenticity.

Forget perfect.

Forget polished.

Forget the need to have it all figured out.

People don’t connect with perfect — they connect with real.

With honesty. With the messy, human moments that remind them they’re not alone.

Clarity will be your secret weapon.

Not perfection — clarity.

Know what you stand for.

Know what you offer.

Know why it matters.

It’s not about being everything to everyone — it’s about being unmistakably you.

Treat it like a business from day one.

Even if it’s just you and a dream right now.

Build systems. Set goals. Invest in the tools and education that will help you grow.

You’re not “just posting.” You’re building a legacy.

And lastly — be patient.

Growth is never linear.

You’ll pivot more times than you can count.

You’ll doubt yourself on the hard days.

You’ll stumble into beautiful surprises you couldn’t have planned for.

And that’s how it’s supposed to feel.

Pause. Breathe. Keep going.

You’re closer than you think.

And you’ve got this.

Kymmiee Lately is entering a new chapter, focused on building something far bigger than just a personal platform. It’s about creating a global lifestyle brand that inspires, empowers, and connects people.

Long-term, I envision Kymmiee Lately evolving into a multi-faceted hub — one that serves creators, travelers, and lifestyle enthusiasts alike. From offering digital resources like planners, e-books, and courses, to curating retreats and workshops,

the goal is to become the go-to destination for anyone looking to elevate their life and pursue their passions.

Expanding my reach and impact is a top priority.

This means partnering with like-minded brands for meaningful collaborations,

creating content that resonates deeply,

and continuing to build a supportive community.

I want Kymmiee Lately to feel like a home — a space where people can come to learn, grow, and find inspiration to design lives they truly love.

This rebrand is deeply personal.

It’s about leaning into freedom —

the freedom to create what I want, when I want,

and to design a life that reflects my truest self.

That’s the ultimate goal:

to build something that aligns with my purpose,

and gives me the space to inspire others to do the same.

It’s scary to dream this big,

but that’s also what makes it so worth it.

Kymmiee Lately is about creating a space where growth, connection, and passion collide.

It’s about helping others embrace their own journeys,

and it’s this vision that keeps me moving forward every single day.

Because life, like this space, isn’t about who you’re supposed to be.

It’s about honoring who you are — Kymmiee, Lately

and loving her forward.
