It’s time to slowly gravitate away all the holiday merriment and back into healthier food options. Besides what a better way to jump-start the new year with greater energy both of the mind and body. This refreshing and healthy detox water is the perfect summer thirst quenches. Hydrating + soothing cucumber is combined with invigorating ginger and lemon for a crisp and revitalizing infused water. Infused water, also known as “detox water”, – a great way to add nutrients and flavor to your water without adding extra calories.

While you won’t get all of the nutrients that you would be getting by eating the ingredients, detox water is still able to soak up the water-soluble vitamins and minerals of whatever it is infused with.

Maintaining proper hydration is one of the easiest – yet often most overlooked – ways to stay healthy and lose weight.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 Large Cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 Inch Piece Ginger, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 oz Fresh Mint (about 3 sprigs)
  • 8 cups water (about 2 liters)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Peel and thinly slice ginger
  2. Thinly slice lemon and cucumber
  3. Rinse mint and remove leaves from stems
  4. Combine all ingredients in a large glass pitcher and enjoy!

NOTES

  • Letting the water infuse for at least 2 hours will give you a stronger flavored detox water
  • You can continue to refill your infusion pitcher with water until it starts to lose flavor (3-5 refills)

Start your day with a kick-ass Apple Cider with a twist. A healthy drink of Cranberry, Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice. This power drink is packed with healthy juices that boost your metabolism into high gear, cleanses the system, and kills sugar cravings.

Yes, Cranberry, Apple Cider Vinegar & Lemon Juice Drink is as tart as it sounds. The trick is to add ice cubes, lots of water and keep it chilled. This tart refreshing drink has numerous health benefits and should be a daily addition to your diet.

 Prep Time: 5 minutes
 Total Time: 5 minutes
 Servings: 1 Serving

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces pure cranberry juice
  • 1 – 2 teaspoons Italian Volcano Organic Lemon juice
  • 1 – 2 teaspoons Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 6 – 10 ounces spring water

Instructions:

  1. Add to a 16-ounce glass or sports cup.
  2. Mix and sip before meals.

Ingredients:

  • Water
  • 1 Lime
  • 1 Green Tea Bag
  • ¼ Cup of Mint Leaves

Instructions:

  1. Fill a large mason jar ( about 24 oz of water) – add tea bag ( I do a cold brew)
  2. Allow to sit in the fridge for 30 minutes
  3. Cut up lime and chop up mint
  4. Place in the water
  5. Cover and take out the tea bag
  6. Place in the fridge for 30 more minutes
  7. Enjoy!

4. Chia Seed Healthy Detox Recipe

Chia seeds are gluten free and a good source of calcium and fiber.  They are also supposed to help curb your appetite.  When added to a glass of water they swell up and take on a gel like consistency

Ingredients:

  1. 1 – 12oz glass of water
  2. 1 Tablespoon Chia seeds
  3. Juice from 1 lime
  4. 1/4 teaspoon agave nectar

Instructions:

  1. Fill a glass jar with a lid with drinking water
  2. Add chia seeds to water. Place lid on the jar and shake well. Let set for 10 minutes
  3. Add juice from 1 lime and 1/4 teaspoon agave nectar. Shake again and drink
