How Did You Get Into Content Creation?

I have talked about this in full detail on my About Page. But for brief sake. I stumbled into blogging when I was on the highway to my master’s graduation... I woke up one morning with the urge to create a website, and without hesitation, I signed up for WordPress—the free version on my phone and wrote my first blog post. I loved it so much! I felt a rush every time I hit “publish” and released a new post out into the world for anyone (or maybe only my parents, by my parents I mostly mean my mum and girlfriends at the beginning) to see and respond to. What started as a hobby turned into a lifetime career that has now quickly grown in size and scope beyond anything I could have imagined in my wildest dreams. Each step was a learning curve and sometimes I would spend hours on the simplest things (like trying to center my header), but that drive is what kept me motivated and moving forward

What Would You Advise A Person Interested In Content Creation

Getting started and keeping up a consistent schedule of posting are the most difficult parts of their entire life of blogging JK! Honestly. It’s important not to go into it with high expectations of becoming the next IT creator. That pressure alone could ruin the whole experience for you. Know your WHY. And always Remember, it’s about the journey, not the destination! all you have to do is start

PHOTOGRAPHY

How do you take amazing photos

At its roots, photography is all about lighting and composition. When you decide to take a photo, think about how you can make the lighting better. Small adjustments like moving your subject closer to an open window for a brighter light or shading your food by blocking light with your body can create more even light that’s more pleasing. Once you’ve figured out your light, think about your composition. Composition is the arrangement of visual elements in a picture. It’s not just how the physical elements are arranged but also the distance from the subjects, the angle, and the focal length of the lens. The composition is all about experimentation. I’ve never taken just one picture, I always play around with the composition, moving items in the photo, and changing the distance or the angle. Afterward, I review all of the images and select the ones that I find the most visually appealing or that tell the best story. I then edit those. It also helps I have a photographer on board.

FASHION + STYLE

Who is your fashion Icon

I have a couple of fashion icons that catch my eye. both local and international. However, the first fashion icon in my eyes and a person who truly shaped my fashion sense are a couple-duo: my parents! Believe it or not. My mom being a fashion designer made it easy for me to steal a few style tips from her. And my dad on the other hand. Woah! Well, he’s a handful and one of the most stylish older men I know to date! Until he tries to wear jeans, then that’s a NO-NO, NO-GO kind of story. Ha!

TRAVEL

Going on a trip, any advise?

I could put together 100 tips for traveling, but I think the most important thing to remember when traveling is why you’re traveling in the first place. No matter what stage you are in, you can be in the planning stage or you could already be on your trip—the purpose of your trip should always be on top of your mind. Here’s why, when I travel, I am presented with a plethora of options. The sheer amount of things to do, places to stay, and food to eat can be overwhelming. This, combined with the ticking clock of my time expiring, creates a perception of scarcity and can force me into a rush to consume everything. So the next time you plan a trip, make sure most of your itinerary reflects your purpose, and I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time.

CONTENT CREATION

Is content creation a fulltime job?

Yes and No. I have a regular 9 AM to 5 PM job. Where I get to utilize my double degrees. But I also work on my content every day from 6 PM to 12 AM and beyond sometimes. (Who needs sleep anyways? Ha!) and all my free time, lunch break, and weekends are dedicated to building my Brand. The truth of the matter is that content creation is a 24-hour Job, as long as you aren’t doing it for fun. So am always working. The funny not so funny story is that there is more to content creation than what meets the eye. Just on the content creation side alone, there’s plenty of work to be done every day. I cover the responsibilities of a model, a stylist, a location scout, a producer, a writer, an editor, and a photographer. Add on social media, travel, collaborations, legal, financial duties, and everything else in between, there’s plenty to keep me busy all of the time.

CONTENT CREATION

How to make money as a content Creator

I make money in three main ways: through sponsored content, advertising, and affiliates. I’m lucky to have the opportunity to work with some amazing brands, and if I’m ever paid for a collaboration post, it will be disclosed within the post that it’s “sponsored” (any gifted items will be marked as well). I’m also a part of several affiliate advertising programs. This means that if you click and/or make a purchase through certain links on my site or any related social media platforms. I may make a commission from that click and/or purchase, as detailed on my Disclaimer Page.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Speaking of Photos, How do you edit your Photos?

One of the Most Frequently Asked Questions Ever! This got easier after I had a breakthrough in the type of imagery I wanted my brand to portray. From there, everything seems to fall into place. I don’t always take pictures that aren’t “brand worth it,” because they will end up filling my gallery. With that being said, I constantly use Adobe Lightroom to fix the light, color adjustment, white balance, color mix, and composition details. Depending on the photo, I might use Adobe Photoshop. Ever so often, I use FaceTune for my portraits. Believe me, I know, It may seem like a lot, but I have a few custom presets on the go, and it’s something I do enjoy. So it doesn’t seem like a chore

BRAND

Favorite thing about your Brand?

Well, how much time do you get? Short answer? EVERYTHING!! Long answer: I love having something that’s completely mine. I love creating a destination for my community—something they can escape to daily that will hopefully brighten their day with positivity. Plus the fact that I get to share the things that I discover—those things that catch my eye, whether it’s wearing a beautiful dress or capturing an incredible landscape. Every day is a creative challenge for me, which keeps me grounded, motivated, and always striving for improvement. Finally, I enjoy having something to work on to inspire my growth. It’s definitely made me a better creative thinker, writer, and overall a better person.

PERSONAL

Fun Facts About You!

I am a survivor; I have been hurt, broken, and betrayed, but all those things have made me a better and stronger individual. I love junk food (and am slowly moving away from this, I promise)— If curbs weren’t my biggest worry, I could eat them all year. Believe it when I say, I could eat them every day if I let myself. I can’t ride a bike… #embarrassing I love neutrals. I’d be happy if everything in my life were black, white, and 50 shades of grey. My biggest weakness and probably the reason for my death will be my heart. I love and trust too damn easily. It’s a problem. I love the smell of scented candles or coffee in my bedroom and the sound of pouring rain. I have a great sense of humor and a charming personality (I should have started with this, LOL). I’m a computer geek in fashion disguise (I shouldn’t have admitted that let alone written it!) I’m a wonder-lust My happy place is in a quiet space where my mind can work in peace.
